Dr. Alex Linley

CEO

Dr Alex Linley is CEO of Cappfinity and an internationally renowned positive psychologist. Alex has focused on identifying and developing people’s strengths for two decades. He is Co-founder of Cappfinity, a company that blends psychological rigor with data science and technology to develop award-winning programmes that help companies identify and develop talent with strengths and skills. Alex developed Cappfinity’s unique methodology and has been a Visiting Professor in Psychology since 2007. In his former academic career, Alex published over 150 academic papers and wrote or edited 8 books, including The Strengths Book; Positive Psychology in Practice; and the Oxford Handbook of Positive Psychology and Work.

Helen Dovey

Chief Assessment Officer

Helen is Cappfinity’s Chief Assessment Officer and a Chartered Psychologist of the Division of Occupational Psychology. She is a member of the British Psychological Society and Register of Qualifications in Test Use. Throughout her career, Helen’s roles have been at the intersection of assessment product development and client advisory. In her role as Chief Assessment Officer, Helen leads Cappfinity’s overall assessment strategy and implementation, ensuring our psychological methodologies and best practices deliver scientifically rigorous, fair, and innovative solutions to clients. Helen chairs Cappfinity’s Psychometric Advisory Committee, bringing together psychologists across our global regions to ensure Cappfinity’s talent science offering reflects our global regulatory standards and changes. Helen is also an external board member for Employability Strategy for University of York. Helen is passionate about working with data and championing psychological best practice through Cappfinity’s organization-wide work.

Dr. Stephen Mueller

Head of Consulting, Americas

Stephen Mueller serves as Cappfinity’s Head of Consulting, Americas. Throughout his 25-year career as an Industrial Organizational Psychologist, he has worked across sectors with numerous domestic and multinational organizations. His primary practice areas include selection process design and validation, executive assessment, people analytics, and EEOC/OFCCP compliance. In his role, he leads a team of psychologists that are responsible for the design, validation, and implementation of psychometrically sound, bias free talent acquisition solutions.

He earned a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Industrial Organizational psychology, with an emphasis in quantitative analysis, from the University of Houston and a master’s degree in business (MBA) from the University of St. Thomas. He is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP).

Paul Deakin

Head of Talent Science

Paul has specialised in psychometric research and product development for over 25 years, having worked for the UK Ministry of Defence and a major international test publisher before joining Cappfinity in 2015. He has contributed to the development of many market-leading assessments used in selection and development, always looking to combine psychometric rigor and technological innovation. He has authored various peer-reviewed research articles and has presented his work at industry conferences including the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP) Congress and the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Occupational Psychology Conference.

Jason Blaik

Principal Consultant & Organizational Psychologist, APAC

Jason Blaik is an Organisational Psychologist and Principal Consultant with Cappfinity in APAC. He has worked for over 20 years as a specialist in psychometrics, psychological testing and personnel selection with various leading assessment firms. During this time he has led the development of award-winning assessments and worked closely with companies worldwide in their implementation of these. He has served in roles with the Australian Psychological Society (APS), College of Organisational Psychologists (COP) and Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). His work has been published in top-tiered psychological journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, International Journal of Testing and the International Journal of Selection and Assessment.
