ISE Student Development Conference 2021 : Evolving Early Talent Development Programmes: From Survive to Thrive

The Transversal Skills Programme – supporting career adaptability in the post-pandemic job market. Presented by Cappfinity, University College Dublin and Technological University Dublin

When the Covid-19 pandemic struck early last year, it triggered an unprecedented surge in unemployment, with global job losses estimated at 114 million by the International Labour Organization.

As the catastrophic impact of Covid-19 on the job market became clear, University College Dublin (UCD), Technological University of Dublin (TU Dublin) and strengths experts, Cappfinity, decided to join forces in an agile emergency response to support those who had suddenly and unexpectedly lost their jobs or had to suspend their businesses.

In this session, UCD, TU Dublin and Cappfinity will explore the objectives and background to the initiative, including sharing the top transversal skills in demand by global employers, data on the positive outcomes of the initiative, how strengths supported the delegates throughout their journey as well as testimonials from the 100 participants. The panel of speakers will also include a learner who has successfully completed the course, providing their individual perspective on the importance of transversal skills as they navigate the challenging job market.
